 About Stephen Brannan

Independent author of historical World War I and World War II fiction and romance. My novels bring the past to life through vivid storytelling and rich Historical detail. My romance stories explore love, connection, and the resilience of the human spirit.

Born in the rolling hills of Derbyshire, England. I grew up surrounded by stories, both the ones I read under the covers by torchlight and the ones whispered by the countryside’s ancient landscapes.

I have been lucky enough to travel the world, collecting fragments of cultures and histories from hidden corners that now find their way into my fiction.

From bustling city streets to remote, wind swept coastlines, my journeys shaped my eye for detail and my love of weaving the extraordinary into the everyday. My novels are known for their immersive worlds, unexpected twists, and characters who feel as real as the people you pass on the street.

I write from the quiet of home now, where adventure still thrives. Now it begins on the page.

For readers who crave stories that carry them away, yet linger in the mind long after the final chapter, I offer a passport to worlds you’ll never want to leave.

Praise

Echoes Over Thornbridge is an unforgettable blend of history, romance, and heart. The detail is so vivid you feel the roar of the B-17s and the quiet ache of love found in the shadow of war. The characters are real, raw, and deeply human. A beautifully written novel.

Utterly captivating. When Hearts Take Flight balances meticulous Battle of Britain detail with a tender, urgent love story—I felt every scramble, every whispered moment between Evie and Jamie. The writing is gorgeous, the stakes real, and the ending left me hopeful and teary. I couldn’t put it down.

Shadows Over Prague pulled me in from the very first page. Eva Kohn is one of the most powerful, complex heroines I’ve ever read — brave, vulnerable, and hauntingly real. The historical detail is exquisite, and the emotional impact stayed with me long after I turned the last page.
